Ocala Council backs City Manager Pete Lee contract renewal after property owner blasts code enforcement culture

Businessman Clay Albright told the Ocala City Council that an “embedded cancerous culture” in code enforcement has frightened business owners and that some fear retribution, while Councilman Jim Hilty voted ‘no’ on Lee’s contract and other members said the division needs fixing but Lee should stay.

City of Ocala to host local International Coastal Clean-Up event at Tuscawilla Park Sept. 19

The annual event brings together individuals and local businesses and organizations to help beautify one of the downtown area’s outdoor jewels.
