OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The holiday season just got a little brighter with free parking in all metered spaces in downtown Ocala.  According to the city’s Facebook page, the free parking is to “celebrate the holidays and support local businesses.”

You’ll usually pay 50 cents per hour on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., but the city has waived those rates through Jan. 1, 2024.  While the fees are not in effect, the time limit is.  You can only park for three hours per space.

Not only is the parking free around the Square and surrounding roads with metered parking, the city is also providing free parking at the downtown garage at 296 SE Broadway St.

Normal parking fees will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.
