MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Detectives from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) are investigating the shooting death of a man at a home in a gated, retirement community in Summerfield.
The sheriff’s office says just before noon, deputies responded to the 11000 block of Southeast 170th Lane in the Stonecrest subdivision after receiving reports of a shooting.
When they arrived at the scene, they say they discovered a white male with a gunshot wound. Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) then responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead.
Since then, MCSO shared in a Facebook post that the scene has been secured. “Based upon the initial investigation, all parties involved have been accounted for and are being interviewed,” said MCSO in the social media post.
