OCALA, FL (352today.com) – When you’ve got kids in school who are outgrowing clothes, needing the latest computer, or just basic school supplies, it can get pretty pricey. Add more than one child to the mix, and it can be more than just a little difficult to budget for new items in the middle of the school year.
Gov. Ron DeSantis has added a new back-to-school sales tax holiday which started Monday, Jan. 1, and ends Sunday, Jan. 14. During this timeframe, you will not have to pay sales tax on numerous retail items you purchase including:

- Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories with a sales price of $1,500 or less, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use
The sales tax holiday does not apply to:
- Any item of clothing with a sales price of more than $100
- Any school supply item with a sales price of more than $50
- Books that are not otherwise exempt
- Computers and computer-related accessories with a sales price of more than $1,500
