TRENTON, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 3-year-old boy died when he was run over by a pickup truck Sunday evening.
FHP says the accident happened just before 7 p.m. on private property off of SW 85th Place in Gilchrist County, west of Trenton.
Troopers say a 42-year-old man was making a left turn in a private yard when the child approached the pickup truck.
The news release from FHP says the driver did not see the child and ran over the boy.
Troopers say the child died on the way to a nearby medical air transport landing zone.
The relationship between the man and the child is unclear at this time. 352today has reached out to FHP for more information.
