ORIGINAL 2/28: Grab a chair or blanket and break out the telescope for some stargazing at Ocala’s Astronomy Night this Saturday evening. Don’t have a telescope? Don’t worry.

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department is hosting Astronomy Night Saturday, March 2, from 6-9 p.m. at the Ocala Regional Sportsplex which is located at 3500 SW 67th Ave. Rd.

The event is, of course, weather dependent. The National Weather Service forecast for Saturday evening in Ocala does call for the chance of rain. But don’t let that scare you off. It’s only a 30% chance. The low temp will be around 61. If the city notifies of a cancellation, we’ll post the update on the 352today Facebook page.

In preparation for this program, the Ocala Regional Sportsplex will be closed Saturday, March 2, starting at 5:30 p.m. This closure impacts all softball fields, basketball, and volleyball courts. The sportsplex will reopen to the public Sunday, March 3, at 8 a.m.
