MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred during the early hours on Monday morning.
FHP say a 36-year-old woman from Silver Springs was walking just beyond a curve of the northbound lane of County Road 314A when she was hit by a truck.
Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the accident and pronounced the woman dead on the scene.
According to reports, the fatal accident occurred just before 6 a.m. in an area that had no street lighting.
Troopers say the pedestrian was also wearing dark clothing.
The driver, a 63-year-old man from Silver Springs, did not sustain injuries.
