MICANOPY, FL (352today.com) – In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) were tasked with corralling a raging barn fire in Micanopy.
MCFR units were dispatched at 3:05 a.m. on Tuesday in response to a barn fire at the 9000 block of NW 200th Street Road.
According to fire rescue, the 911 caller stated the fire started in a large workshop, spreading to adjacent sheds and catching trees on fire.
MCFR says they deployed hose lines to protect the main residence, a large propane tank and additional structures.
An off-duty MCFR firefighter was evaluated for injuries but refused further treatment. No other injuries were reported to MCFR.
The cause and origin of the fire is unknown at this time.
