MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is searching for clues in the death of a 71-year-old Marion County man.

Troopers say the man was found dead Monday just before 10 p.m. on along the south shoulder of County Road 25 (CR 25).

Investigators say the man had been struck by an unknown vehicle at an unknown time frame.

FHP says a vehicle was traveling east on CR 25 when a man from Ocklawaha was hit and killed. Troopers say the driver left the scene.

They hope the public can help provide information that will lead them to the driver.
