SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A Bushnell woman needs a new car. But that’s better than the alternative.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 57-year-old woman from Bushnell was traveling eastbound on County Road 720, east of US-301, on Saturday when her Jeep Wrangler died around 8:20 a.m.
Trouble is… it died on the railroad tracks at an ungated rail crossing.
Troopers say the woman wasn’t able to get it off the tracks, so she got out.

FHP says it was then struck by a passing CSX freight train with approximately 80 rail cars.
Troopers say the train came to a controlled stop.
They say the train engineers weren’t injured, and the Jeep driver is also fine.
