OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A truck driver is okay after plowing his tractor-trailer into a portion of a guardrail on Interstate 75 (I-75).

Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) responded to reports of the single-vehicle accident on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m.

OFR says the tractor-trailer struck the I-75 northbound guardrail leading to the State Road 200 overpass.

Upon arrival, OFR say they witnessed Road Rangers directing traffic around the accident which caused northbound backups from exit 350 through mile marker 339.

OFR also say they identified a fuel leak with gasoline spilling all over the highway’s asphalt.

As clean-ups were underway, OFR posted a video on Facebook showing the extent of the damage and backup on northbound I-75.

OFR says the 46-year-old driver from New York was not injured in the accident and began to monitor the fuel leak. Crews responded to the leak using absorbent materials to soak up the fuel and mitigate the spillage to prevent further hazards.

Following the clean-up of the fuel leak, the scene was handed over to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for clearance.

OFR says regular traffic patterns resumed around 2:30 p.m.
