OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Phil Rosenberg has been an avid stargazer since childhood and now he’s sharing that passion in a bold, new way.

The College of Central Florida’s Appleton Museum of Art recently installed some of Rosenberg’s astrophotographs in a project called “Art on the Up and Up.”

Rosenberg took hundreds of images of the cosmos from an observatory at his Marion County home.

One piece called “Seagull Nebula” is a composite of 90 images. It was then printed on oversized vinyl graphics and installed beneath the east and west staircases in the museum lobby, transforming otherwise unused spaces.

By day, Rosenberg is a human resources and public administration leader who founded a company called The HR Doctor.

By night, he actively observes and photographs the wonders of the night sky using powerful equipment.

Rosenberg hopes to encourage a love of astronomy in the next generation. He and his wife, Charlotte, donated computerizing, robotic telescopes to elementary and middle schools and large observatory-class telescopes to the College of Central Florida and Broward College.

Admission to the Appleton Museum of Art is FREE for CF students and its members. Otherwise, tickets range from $8 to $10. Admission is FREE for everyone on the first Saturday of every month. It’s located at 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd. in Ocala.
