WEIRSDALE, FL (352today.com) – Faith, Family and Friends.

That’s the name of country singer John Berry’s podcast series, and that sums up the depth of feeling and emotion Angela Knight’s co-workers have for her.

Knight whose work ethic and commitment to Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) has been a source of inspiration for the past 25 years, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 bone cancer.

The multiple Grammy Award nominated Berry is known for his No. 1 country hit “Your Love Amazes Me.”

He’s also a cancer survivor.

This weekend, he’s teaming up with MCFR for a fundraising concert to benefit Knight.

Berry will perform many of his chart-topping singles this Saturday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Orange Blossom Opry in Weirsdale.

“Angela was always a sweetheart to work with,” said Scott Sexton, a former co-worker, who is now the Director of Publicity for 2911 Media in Nashville. He does public relations work for Berry.

“I worked with her for several years at the fire department, and she was amazing to work with. She’s been a fixture there for as many years as I can remember,” said Sexton.

During the concert, uniformed firefighters from MCFR will take up collections and accepting donation to benefit Knight. For every concert ticket purchased, the Orange Blossom Opry is donating $1 to the Angela Knight Fund.

“I love coming to play there. It’s always so much fun. It’s always terrific and a great time, I’m looking forward to being back there,” said Berry during an interview on 93.7 K-Country’s Lewis Stokes. “To be able to do this and help out Angela, it’s a great opportunity, I’m looking forward to it.”

Sexton Knight’s contributions during the hurricane season in 2004. He says she worked tirelessly all night in the dispatch center, assisting her colleagues.

Though Knight worked behind the scenes at MCFR, Sexton says her presence was felt by everyone in the agency.  He says she provided support to her fellow co-workers, many of them not realizing the depth of her involvement. She was like a big sister and mother to many.

“Her sister Anita also worked for the county,” said Sexton. “I had worked with both sisters. When I saw that Anita had shared the GoFundMe information, it was just one of those things, what can we do to support Angela?”

Tickets to the concert can be purchased at the Orange Blossom Opry’s website.
