LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A Dunnellon man died in a wreck on Sunday and his passenger is seriously injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says the accident happened just before 4 p.m. on Sunday on County Road 40 which is also known as Southeast 115th Avenue.
Troopers say the driver of a silver Mercedes was traveling east on Highway 40 when he failed to negotiate a left curve. FHP says the car flipped when he ran off the road onto the grass shoulder and collided with a fence.
FHP says the driver, a 61-year-old man from Dunnellon, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, a 65-year-old woman who is also from Dunnellon, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries at the time of the accident.
