LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – One person is dead following a high-speed chase involving the Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
The sheriff’s office says the Florida Highway Patrol was also involved in the chase which ended in a wreck.
Around 8:15 p.m. Monday, LCSO said in a Facebook post that U.S. 19 from County Road 347 south of Chiefland to Otter Creek at State Road 24 was shut down in both directions (north and southbound) due to the crash and the subsequent investigation.
More than a dozen law enforcement vehicles were on the scene.

At this time, we don’t know what prompted the chase, who died in the crash nor how the wreck happened.
We do know from the sheriff’s office that no one in law enforcement was injured.
