Ocala Shrine Rodeo: Gear up for this Shrine Club tradition happening Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31. This event will feature all traditional rodeo events including bull riding and steer wrestling. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the rodeo starts at 7:30 both nights. Tickets are $25 and kids 5 and under are FREE. The rodeo is at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, located at 2232 NE Jacksonville Rd. in Ocala.
Attack of the Bloodsuckers: This weekend is your last chance to see this limited-time exhibit exploring the science behind bloodsucking creatures at the Discovery Center. The center is open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is $8 per person. The address is 701 NE Sanchez Ave. in Ocala.
Carson Springs Wildlife Labor Day Weekend: On Saturday, Aug. 31 and Monday, Sept. 2 you can visit Carson Springs for guided wildlife tours starting at 10 a.m. Experience big cat feedings, baby lemur interactions, and over 100 exotic and rare animal species. Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for kids 2-11. Carson Springs is located at 8528 E County Road 225 in Gainesville.
Labor Day Barrel Blast: The World Equestrian Center is hosting this premier barrel racing event Friday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 2. The races start at 9 a.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday through Monday. Spectating is FREE and the events will be in Indoor Arena 5. The address is 2732 NW 30th Terr. in Ocala.
Labor Day Celebration at FAST: Fall may be approaching but the Florida heat isn’t going anywhere. Cool off at FAST’s refreshing outdoor pool and spray ground while you soak up the themed entertainment from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2. Admission is $5 for kids and $10 for adults. The facility is located at 4635 SW 67th Ave. Rd. in Ocala.
