ALACHUA, FL (352today.com) – A wreck in Alachua took the life of a local man Wednesday evening.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says that the wreck happened just after 7 p.m. on State Road 45 in Alachua. They say that a Subaru SUV was traveling southbound, and a Toyota SUV was traveling northbound. The Subaru, driven by a 41-year-old Archer man, reportedly veered from its lane into the Toyota’s path, hitting head-on.
FHP says that both drivers were taken to UF Health in Gainesville where the driver of the Toyota, a 64-year-old Alachua man, was pronounced dead. They note that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
A traffic homicide investigation is underway.
