ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Tuesday, Sept. 17, marks National Voter Registration Day, a civic holiday to help spread awareness of the upcoming voter registration deadline.
It’s incredible to think, but there are only 50 days left before the general election with the deadline to vote arriving on October 7.
The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections (ACSOE) office will assist with voter registration on Tuesday.
Members of ACSOE will be helping to assist those with voter registration at the Santa Fe College Civics Fair Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will be held at the Oak Grove on Santa Fe College’s Northwest Campus.
ACSOE will then make their way to the University of Florida campus following the civics fair for another voter registration drive at Library West.
It is important to remember that eligible voters must register before October 7 to vote in the upcoming general election. Registered voters can vote for candidates regardless of their party affiliation.
If you are not yet registered to vote and are unable to attend Tuesday’s events, no problem. There are many options for you to register:
- Online: Florida residents can register to vote online. The online voter registration portal — found at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov — is a safe and secure option for voter registration. You will need a valid Florida State ID (Florida Driver’s License number/Florida ID Card number) and the last four digits of your social security number.
