OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Festival at Fort King is set to return on Dec. 7th and 8th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
This free, family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience Ocala’s rich history.

A Weekend of History and Fun
The festival will feature a variety of activities and demonstrations, including:
- Living History: Engage with historical interpreters portraying soldiers, civilians, and Native Americans.
- Artisan Demonstrations: Watch skilled artisans create traditional crafts.
- Children’s Activities: Enjoy hands-on activities and games suitable for all ages.
- Food Vendors: Savor delicious food and beverages.
- Cannon Firing: Experience the thunderous sound of historical cannon firings.
An annual highlight of the festival is the reenactment of the pivotal event that ignited the Second Seminole War.
Free shuttle parking is available at the Duke Energy power line field about a quarter mile east of the Fort. An ADA tram will be available for handicapped or disabled guests.
