OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Today is the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, which spans from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. This year, the College of Central Florida (CF) is celebrating on the last Saturday of the month, Oct. 14, with a free festival.
The CF Hispanic Heritage Festival, co-hosted by Hispanic Business Council, will take place at Citizens’ Circle in Ocala this year. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can enjoy a full day of local Latin food, live music, free kid-friendly art activities and shopping with over 30 vendors. Many businesses in attendance are Hispanic-owned and range from real estate agents to jewelry makers.
Community resources and businesses will also offer information booths, including on-site admission advising for visitors interested in continuing their education at CF. Other resources include CF’s Appleton Museum of Art, Marion County Public Schools (MCPS), Marion County Public Library and Ocala Police Department (OPD).
“We are excited to connect with our community at this annual festival,” said Dr. Raphel Robinson, director of Admissions and Student Recruitment at CF. “It’s a great opportunity for families to explore local resources, artists and vendors right here in Marion County.”
The Oct. 14 event at 151 SE Osceola Ave., Ocala will offer free parking. For more information, visit CF’s website.
