MORRISTON, FL (352today.com) – She was always just a straightforward filly, and now she’s a multiple-stakes winner.

Bred by Rebecca Ming and broken and trained by her son Damon Ming, Mrs Worldwide, a 2-year-old filly, added to her impressive résumé with her third win of 2024—and second consecutive stakes win—by capturing the 47th running of the $125,000 Sandpiper Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on Dec. 7, 2024. Trained by Brian Lynch and ridden to victory in Oldsmar, Fla., by Samuel Marin, the filly is owned by Flying Dutchmen Breeding and Racing, LLC.

“I knew from the start she wasn’t the biggest filly in the world, but she always seemed to have that fight and the heart to want to win,” says Damon Ming, who broke and trained Mrs Worldwide, recognizing her early potential. “She’s really straightforward and she just took everything easy. I’m pretty tickled with her, winning two in a row now.”

Damon Ming saw the owners at the sales over the summer, and they were extremely high on the Florida-bred daughter of Global Campaign.

“It was all smiles every time I saw them,” says Ming. “She’s definitely stamped herself now as a pretty nice filly.”

Mrs Worldwide’s performance on Nov. 16, 2024, at Gulfstream Park in the Juvenile Fillies sprint that suggested bigger things were to come. She won at first asking on Independence Day at Ellis Park in Henderson, KY over the summer.

“She’s a multiple-stakes winner,” Ming states. “She showed that first time wasn’t a fluke. It was really professional in how she did it today. She shows up every time when it matters.”

Damon Ming’s Dynasty Thoroughbreds sold Mrs Worldwide at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s March 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale to Boardshort Stables for $100,000.

Mrs Worldwide now boasts three wins and two thirds from six lifetime starts, amassing $124,700 in earnings.

“She showed some talent early on as we started breezing her, and if you throw out her race in the Debutante. She’s never run a bad race. She’s been very productive,” says Nick Lynch, Mrs Worldwide’s assistant trainer. “She’s a very well-mannered filly, easy to deal with, and we’re really lucky to have a filly like this in the barn. A big thank you to Flying Dutchmen for their continued support this year.”
