OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Want to see your art around town? The City of Ocala has announced a call to artists for its rotating “Art in City Spaces” exhibition program.
Artists and art organizations are welcome to submit works in various media to be exhibited in municipal public spaces across the city. Exhibits rotate on a six-month basis, and potential spaces include the following locations:
- City Hall, 110 SE Watula Ave.
- Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 110 SE Watula Ave.
- Ocala International Airport, 1770 SW 60 Ave., Suite 600
- Recreation and Parks Administration Building, 828 NE Eighth Ave.
- 8th Avenue Adult Activity Center, 830 NE Eighth Ave.
- Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place, 1821 NW 21 Ave.
Interested parties should submit a recommended minimum of 20 pieces, as well as an application, artist resume, artist statement and high-quality image files of their works. Submissions should be appropriate for public spaces where they may be viewed by citizens and guests of all ages. Originality, viewer engagement, media and technique will be taken into account during the review process. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. After approval, exhibitions may be scheduled up to two years in advance.
