OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) team had to deal with a house fire that trapped three occupants inside of its walls.
MCFR was dispatched to a house in Ocala on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, located in the 5200 block of NW 61st Lane, after 911 callers reported smoke and flames engulfing the home.
MCFR says that the first units arrived on scene five minutes after dispatch to find the single-story home under heavy fire conditions.



Firefighters immediately took to rescuing occupants, according to MCFR. They entered the home through a window and pulled a woman to safety from the blaze.
The two other occupants of the home were able to escape on their own.
Firefighters declared the fire under control at 3:13 P.M.
According to MCFR, two patients were transported by paramedics to a local trauma hospital.
No injuries to firefighters were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
