ALACHUA, FL (352today.com) – Emergency services personnel across Alachua County responded to a 911 call Wednesday from a man trapped between a tractor and a fallen tree.
According to a Facebook post made by the Alachua Police Department (APD) on Wednesday, Sept. 20, the caller was working in San Felasco Park in Gainesville when a tree fell on the tractor he was operating. He was pinned in the middle with difficulty breathing.
APD’s Communication Center employed the help of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Combined Communication Center to find the caller’s GPS coordinates. Police officers were then dispatched to the location and freed the caller with the help of Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR).
APD says the man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
APD thanked all the Alachua and Alachua County emergency responders involved for their teamwork.
