OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala RV Show, billed as the largest of its kind in North Central Florida, is set to return to the Florida Horse Park from March 6-9, offering enthusiasts a chance to explore hundreds of recreational vehicles from six top local dealers. Now in its 35th year, the event has grown from its humble beginnings in 1990 on the campus of Central Florida Community College to a major showcase drawing RV buyers from across the region.
Dave Kelly, executive director of the Florida RV Trade Association, says the show’s evolution mirrors Ocala’s rise as a hub for RV sales. “Ocala has turned into RV Central with all the large RV dealers now having locations in the Ocala area,” Kelly says. He attributed the area’s appeal to its central Florida location, proximity to Interstate 75, and its nearness to The Villages, a sprawling retirement community that has bolstered attendance.
The show has hopped venues over the decades, from the old fairgrounds and the speedway to Don Garlits’ property, the Ocala Flea Market, and Boosters Stadium, before settling at the Florida Horse Park for the past decade. This year’s event will feature a vast display area with RVs of every size, shape, and style, representing major manufacturers. “Seeing, touching, and sitting in all the various RVs helps the attendees find the RV that will fit their lifestyle and how and where they will travel,” Kelly says.

Beyond the vehicles themselves, the show will include a vendor booth area showcasing products aimed at enhancing the RV experience. “Like any hobby, there are a lot of products that make traveling more comfortable and easier,” Kelly notes. Attendees can browse campgrounds, golf carts, electric bikes, and other accessories designed for RV enthusiasts.
One emerging trend Kelly highlights is the growing popularity of smaller RVs, particularly among younger buyers. “The newest thing in RVs is smaller units,” he says. “The younger audience wants the RV for sleeping and plans to be out hiking, biking, exploring, kayaking, and fishing, so they want the smaller RVs.” These compact models are easier to transport and can often be towed by vehicles people already own, making them an appealing entry point for families new to the lifestyle. “Great to see people that grew up with RVs now exposing their families to the lifestyle,” Kelly adds.

The event also aims to honor military members and first responders with discounted admission every day of the show. “We have always appreciated the work that the military and first responders do for all of us, and we honor them by offering a discount admission,” Kelly says. “If there was ever a profession that needs time away from the pressures of their jobs, it’s these people, and we’re glad to be a part of their recreation time.”
The Ocala RV Show will run Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are available only at the gate, with special discounts including a buy-one-get-one-free offer on Thursday, March 6, and $2 off for seniors on Friday, March 7. Daily door prizes and exclusive show discounts will add to the draw.
With its mix of cutting-edge RVs, practical accessories, and a nod to both new and seasoned enthusiasts, the Ocala RV Show continues to solidify the region’s status as a go-to destination for RV shopping. As Kelly put it, “This is the best opportunity to see, compare, and shop a wide variety of RVs,” all in one place.
