OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Just in time for Halloween, the Ocala Civic Theatre (OCT) presents a bewitching dark comedy WITCH. Performances are October 5-15 at the Reilly Arts Center.

The storyline is set in a rural village where outcast Elizabeth Sawyer is tired of being blamed for pretty much everything that goes wrong like sick cows, lost hens, and houses catching on fire. Sawyer just wants to be left alone in her country cottage, but the villagers believe she’s a witch. Some even say she’s danced with the devil in the pale moonlight.

For a little village in the country, there are a lot of souls struggling with secrets, sins, and temptations.

A release from OCT says, “Playwright Jen Silverman has set WITCH in a time described as ‘then-ish, but equally of our moment,’ brilliantly blurring the line between now and long ago.”

This is the first show in the Rattlebox at the Reilly series. There will be 10 performances October 5-15: Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for ages 18 and younger.

OCT says this PG-13 show is recommended for high school students and older.

You can purchase tickets through the Reilly Arts Center box office at (352) 351-1606 or online.
