BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – Next month’s edition of Belleview’s Storytime with the Mayor will feature a relatively generous amount of fur.
The Belleview Community Center is the place to be on April 1 at 5:00 p.m., and that’s no joke.
Continuing the monthly tradition, Belleview Mayor Christine Dobkowski will read a book encouraging positive values and life lessons for the little ones.
Mayor Dobkowski will read “The Berenstain Bears Do the Right Thing,” a story that helps kids understand that doing the right thing isn’t always easy, and that sometimes not getting what they want is the right choice.

“In today’s world, helping children understand the value of honesty, integrity, and making good decisions is more important than ever,” said Mayor Christine Dobkowski. “Storytime with the Mayor is a way to bring families together in a fun and interactive setting while reinforcing these important messages through storytelling. Reading is such a fundamental skill that supports lifelong learning, and I love having the chance to connect with children and encourage their love of books.”
Following the April theme, children will have the opportunity to participate in Easter-themed crafts.
The event will feature a special guest: K9 Rex from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Rex will allow the children to meet a trained working dog and learn about K9 units’ important role in law enforcement.
Attendees will receive a light dinner of wraps and chips at no cost.
In addition, each child will receive a free book to take home, provided by Goodwill BookWorks.
