OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Ocala’s footprint as a preferred address continues to grow, and the richly endowed area offers extraordinary opportunities for healthful living. Spires 27 Luxury Apartments have added to the community’s identity.

On April 9, 2025, the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP) held a ribbon cutting ceremony at Spires 27, marking the official debut of the new 300-unit luxury apartment community. Built by Gainesville-based Davis and Sons Construction, the project brings together high-end living and a strong sense of local identity.

“Our number one goal was to provide modern living with comfort in mind,” said Victor Garrett, asset manager with Davis Property Management Company. “Our second goal was to provide a resort-like experience for all of our residents that didn’t fit their budget. That’s kind of the whole theme here, and we do that through the amenities we offer.”

Amenities include zero-gravity pools, pet spas, and state-of-the-art fitness centers. Garrett emphasized that the company handles all aspects in-house – from development to management.

“We do everything in house, construction, development, management,” he said. “We do have a full development team as well as a full management team, and that’s where I come in.”

The North Central Florida Apartment Association also hosted a bus tour as part of the event, offering a closer look at the area’s residential growth.

“I’ve actually been a community manager in Ocala for seven years,” said Charneel Bowen, Paddock Place community manager. “There’s so much they do for the community, from educational classes to networking events and trade shows. This is actually our second bus tour.”

Garrett noted that Shane Estes of Davis and Sons oversaw construction and had been on-site for 18 months. The name “Spires 27” pays tribute to both the property’s location on Highway 27 and its architectural design, modeled after Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby.

“Shane Estes is the guy that actually built the property,” Garrett said. “One of the things that we’re proud of is that on our building we have our iconic spires.”

The management team is the heart and soul of Spires 27, said Garrett. Bits and pieces of the area’s deep and rich equine history are incorporated into the units which feature barn doors, giving the apartments a sense of place and elegance.

“When the property was brought into vision almost four years ago… the owner was adamant about building a product that supported the area, that paid homage to the area,” he said.
