GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Radiant Credit Union’s Rays of Hope Foundation is hosting its first-ever fundraising event, the 5K Stride for Scholarships Fun Run, on Saturday, May 17 at 9:30 a.m. at Depot Park in downtown Gainesville.
The fun run is open to all ages. Registration costs $35 and includes a race bib and commemorative t-shirt. All proceeds will go toward the foundation’s Vocational Scholarship Fund, which supports graduating high school students pursuing trade or technical education.
The Rays of Hope Foundation awards $1,000 vocational scholarships each year to one student in each of the 16 counties within Radiant Credit Union’s service area. These scholarships help students cover the cost of vocational or career training immediately after high school graduation.
