MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A former Marion County substitute teacher arrested earlier this month on multiple child exploitation charges is now facing additional counts, as investigators continue to seek potential victims.
Dianely Torres, 24, was initially arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) for possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and transmission of material harmful to minors. According to MCSO, Torres engaged in inappropriate communications with a student and distributed explicit materials online.
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, MCSO Major Crimes Detective Jordyn Batts filed three new charges against Torres: two counts of sexual battery and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation.
During the initial investigation, Torres was accused of engaging in conversations of a sexual nature with a juvenile and sending the victim sexually explicit content via social media platforms.
In a follow-up interview, investigators said that Torres told them she was in a “dating” relationship with the juvenile victim. She admitted that they had exchanged nude photographs and engaged in sexual contact. MCSO said that an interview conducted at Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection confirmed these claims, with the juvenile reporting instances of sexual activity.
The investigation also revealed that Torres had previously been disciplined for inappropriate digital contact with students on the messaging platform Discord.
Torres is currently being held at the Marion County Jail with no bond. Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Batts at (352) 368-3847.
