OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Police Department (OPD) has arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting that left another man critically injured.
OPD says the shooting happened just after midnight on Friday, Oct. 6, in the 1300 block of NE 15th Street.
OPD booked Dustin Smith, 36, into the Marion County jail on Friday on attempted murder along with various gun and drug charges.
The say when officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his face. He was transported to the hospital and at last report was in critical condition.
Detectives developed 36-year-old Dustin W. Smith as a suspect in the shooting.
OPD officers tracked him down and arrested him Friday afternoon.
They booked him into the Marion County jail around 6:30 p.m. on Friday on eight charges related to the shooting including attempted murder and various gun and drug charges.
