MIAMI, FL (352today.com) — Tropical Storm Andrea, the first named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, formed Tuesday in the central Atlantic Ocean.
According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Andrea weakened and dissipated in the open Atlantic Ocean, approximately 1,110 miles west of the Azores.
The NHC said no coastal watches or warnings went into effect, and Andrea posed no threat to land.
Forecasters note that while the Atlantic hurricane season is expected to be busier than normal due to unusually warm ocean temperatures, it is not projected to match the intensity of the 2024 season, which included destructive storms such as Beryl, Helene, and Milton.
