TALLAHASSEE, FL (352today.com) โ Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods has been appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve as a commissioner on the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, the Governorโs Office announced Tuesday.
Woods joins new appointees Brandon Barclay, Todd Garrison, Chase Horne, and Steadman Stahl on the Commission. Robert Bage and Wayne Ivey were reappointed.
The Commission is responsible for ensuring Floridaโs criminal justice officers are ethical, well-trained, and properly certified. As a commissioner, Woods will help oversee law enforcement certification, employment standards, training programs, and officer conduct across the state.
Sheriff Woods said he is honored by the appointment and looks forward to working with fellow commissioners to uphold high standards for Florida law enforcement.
