OCALA, FL (352today.com) – On Monday, July 28, Ocala welcomed a bright new face to City Hall as Isabella Fipps stepped into the role of honorary mayor for the day, bringing with her an infectious enthusiasm, thoughtful questions, and a passion for public service.
As part of her day, Mayor Fipps toured several city departments, offering her a rare behind-the-scenes look at how local government operates. From public works to city planning, she engaged with staff, learned about day-to-day operations, and participated in official business, including signing proclamations.
Mayor Fipps also sat down with Ocala Mayor Ben Marciano to exchange ideas. Their discussion included community engagement, innovation in public service, and how to encourage more young people to get involved in local leadership.

The honorary mayor program aims to introduce local youth to civic leadership and foster a lifelong interest in community involvement. Fipps’ visit was a reminder of the incredible potential young people bring to the table when given the opportunity to lead.
“Thank you, Mayor Fipps, for showcasing the potential and promise of young leaders,” city officials said in a statement.
