MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – On Monday, July 28, 2025, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Ryan Paxton arrested Roberto Maurizio Stracuzzi, 56, on multiple charges, including Using a Computer to Solicit a Child, Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and two counts each of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct, Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition over a Computer Service, Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, Transmitting Material Harmful to a Minor, and Possession of Child Pornography.
The investigation began around 10:30 a.m. when MCSO deputies received information about Stracuzzi sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl. The victim, in a forensic interview, disclosed meeting Stracuzzi at a neighborhood pool on July 18, 2025, where they exchanged Snapchat information. Stracuzzi soon shifted their conversations to a sexual nature, sending explicit photos and receiving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from the victim, which he downloaded. He also provided the victim with a “sex toy” and engaged in FaceTime calls where he masturbated and encouraged the victim to use the item. Additionally, Stracuzzi used WhatsApp to solicit the victim for sexual activity and planned for her to sneak out of her home.
Detective Paxton reviewed the communications, establishing probable cause for Stracuzzi’s arrest. During an interview, Stracuzzi initially claimed their conversations were about his daughter but later admitted to the sexual abuse.
Stracuzzi was arrested and is being held without bond at the Marion County Jail.
