OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala International-Jim Taylor Field Airport may be seeing major improvements in the near future.
The Ocala International Airport submitted two applications this spring to ameliorate the existing infrastructure.
The Ocala City Council will consider a resolution at their meeting Sept. 16, 2025, to accept a Federal Aviation Administration Grant for the rehabilitation of the general aviation terminal apron, 15,550 square yards. The grant would be in the amount of $2,664,891, with the FAA agreeing to pay 95% of the accountable costs incurred accompanying the project.
The budget period for the grant is four years from the date of acceptance. The source of this Grant includes funding from the Small Airport Fund. The airport is required to comply with all applicable environmental standards, as further defined in the Grant Assurances, for all projects in this grant.
The Ocala City Council will also consider at the Sept 16, 2025, meeting, a grant made possible through the FAA for infrastructure investment and jobs act, an airport infrastructure grant for a project at the Ocala International-Jim Taylor Field Airport.
And like the aforementioned grant, the project itself must be completed within four years. This grant is to extend the runway safety area for Runway 36. The amount of the grant is $225,850.
