MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – This weekend promises excitement and thrills with haunted attractions to start off the season. This weekend is also the final opportunity for Into the Woods fans to see the musical on-stage at the Ocala Civic Theatre. Get early spooks while celebrating the fall season.
Peanut Patch & Corn Maze Halloween Festival
- What: Peanut Patch & Corn Maze begins their annual Halloween Festival starting this weekend and will take place every Saturday and Friday until Nov. 1. This event will feature haunted houses, hayrides, a corn maze, a trail and an entertainment area.

Kirby Farm Scary Train
- What: The annual Kirby Farm Scary Train event begins this weekend and will take place every Friday and Saturday until Oct. 25 and for one night on Sunday, Oct. 26. This event features classic haunts such as the Clown Woods, Hearse Hunt, Trailer Park, Rat Attack, Danowski’s Dungeon and a new mystery haunt that visitors must attend the event to see. On top of these spooky haunts, this event also features live entertainment and the Scary Train which will take guests on a historic locomotive, sharing eerie tales through a dark forest.

Falltoberfest
- What: Enjoy live entertainment, dancing, food trucks, axe throwing, a pumpkin patch and more at this Falltoberfest event. Featured music artists include DJ Matt Maio, The Brussel Sprouts German Polka Band and Chasing Amy.
- When: Saturday from 5 – 9 p.m.

- Cost: Free to attend
EPIC Theatres of Ocala: Flashback Cinema
- What: Take a leap back in time and watch “Young Frankenstein” at EPIC Theatres of Ocala as a part of their Flashback Cinema event showing classic films.
- When: Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. with another showing at 7 p.m.
- Where: EPIC Theatres of Ocala, 4414 SW College Rd., Ocala, FL 34474
- Cost: For children 11 and under and seniors 59 and older, prices range from $9.07 to $10. Adult tickets range from $10.70 to $12.79.
Final chance for “Into the Woods”
- What: Start the weekend off with the final chance to see a live portrayal of the classic fairytale heroes and villains with “Into the Woods”. This musical will take guests on a journey of fantasy and enchantment through a dark and magical journey. The final showing of the musical will be on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m.
- When: Thursday through Saturday starting at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
