CITRUS SPRINGS, FL (352today.com) – At 2:21 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2025, Citrus County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported shed fire on W. Homeway Loop in Citrus Springs.
The first units, Engine 14 from Citrus Springs and Engine 20 from Pine Ridge, arrived on scene at 2:29 p.m.
Firefighters found a 10×15 shed fully involved in flames with a nearby residence approximately 15 feet away at risk. Engine 20’s crew established command, stretched a hoseline, and had water on the fire by 2:32 p.m. The fire was quickly knocked down, and mop-up began at 2:34 p.m.
Crews confirmed there were no occupants in the shed and ensured the nearby home was protected from exposure. Additional units assisted with fire suppression, water supply, and mop-up.
One patient was transported by ground to a local trauma hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation determined the fire was accidental in nature, starting when a torch being used inside the shed ignited nearby materials. The shed and its contents are considered a total loss, with damages estimated at $12,000.
