MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – On Friday, January 16, 2026, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies arrested Christopher Sherman David Mchellon (DOB: 12/18/1988) for Human Trafficking for Commercial Sexual Activity, Transmission of Harmful Material to a Minor, Use of a Computer to Solicit a Child, Use of a 2-way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony, three counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest with Violence, and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
In October 2025, MCSO Major Crimes Detective Josue Rivera began an investigation into Mchellon after receiving information that he was sending explicit photos of his genitalia to a 15-year-old male. Throughout the investigation, Detective Rivera discovered that Mchellon would provide the juvenile victim with money, drugs, or alcohol in exchange for participation in sexual activities. During a forensic search of the victim’s electronics, detectives located the sexually graphic photos Mchellon sent to the minor. Based on the evidence collected by Detective Rivera, probable cause was established for Mchellon’s arrest.
MCSO Deputies K. Walton and McEldowney responded to Mchellon’s home on NE 55th Avenue to take him into custody. When Deputy McEldowney attempted to place Mchellon in handcuffs, the suspect began to violently fight with the deputy. Deputy Walton attempted to deploy a taser, but it had no effect. During the physical altercation, Mchellon grabbed a black shotgun. K-9 Cpl. Demarco responded and assisted in removing the shotgun from Mchellon’s grasp and successfully detaining him. Following his arrest, Mchellon repeatedly stated that he wished he had been able to shoot the deputies and his wish for their children to be killed.
Given the circumstances of Mchellon’s contact with the juvenile victim, detectives believe there may be additional victims. If you have been victimized by Mchellon or have any information relevant to this case, please call Detective Rivera at 352-732-9111. Mchellon was transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
