ALACHUA COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Motorists are advised of overnight road closures along NW–NE 53rd Avenue as crews complete final thermoplastic pavement markings, lane striping, and installation of audible vibratory treatments as part of the roadway improvement project.
The work will require temporary nighttime closures along sections of NW–NE 53rd Avenue from March 10 through March 12, 2026. Each closure will occur from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. the following morning.
Scheduled Road Closures
- March 10: 6:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
NW–NE 53rd Avenue closed from Waldo Road to NE 15th Street - March 11: 6:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
NW–NE 53rd Avenue closed from NE 15th Street to Main Street - March 12: 6:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
NW–NE 53rd Avenue closed from Main Street to U.S. Route 441
Detour signage will be in place to guide motorists safely around the work areas. Law enforcement officers will be on site to assist with traffic control and ensure public safety during the closures.
Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes, allow additional travel time, and use caution when traveling near the work zones.
