LAKE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller will host its annual Operation Green Light event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 20-24, 2026, to help those with a suspended driver license, those nearing a suspension, or persons in past-due collections, save money on select delinquent fines and fees.

“If you are behind on your court-related payments, this event is here to help you,” said Gary Cooney, Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. “We aim to help customers seeking to reinstate or prevent suspension of their driver licenses. Operation Green Light provides incentives like removing overdue accounts from collections, eliminating collection and payment plan fees, and reducing fines for those who pay in full.”

Last year’s event resulted in 394 cases being addressed, with a total of $39,847 in past-due payments collected and $27,523 being dismissed from collections.

Customers wishing to coordinate payment arrangements for past-due court fees and fines can do so in person at the Lake County Courthouse, 550 W. Main St., First Floor, East Wing, Tavares. To begin the process of establishing payment terms electronically, email GreenLight@LakeCountyClerkFL.gov.

In most instances, those who pay their obligations in full, or establish a monthly payment plan, by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 24, will be eligible to have their driver license reinstated, all while saving money.
