OCALA, FL. (352today) – Meet this week’s furry friend, Mocha. Like her name, this pup has the energy and the sweetness of the beloved drink she is named after. This sweet girl is anxiously waiting for her forever home at Marion County Animal Services.

Being a year and four months old, Mocha has the energy of a puppy and the calm maturity of an adult dog. At first, she is curious and excited, and she almost immediately calms down to play after getting all the pets she can. Her gentle soul loves treats above all else. Thanks to this treat drive, she will be easily trainable to become a perfect pup companion.
Mocha arrived at MCAS in late January after being confiscated from her previous owners, who were arrested. Since then, she has patiently waited to be noticed by a loving family. The MCAS staff expressed that many potential adopters discount her due to her excited behavior in her kennel, unaware of the calm side of her personality.
This pup is the best of both worlds. She can be an adventure buddy who loves to go on long walks, or a calm couch potato curled up while watching a movie. That is why the ideal home for Mocha will be one with lively energy and a space on the couch to lie on. Mocha also gets along with other dogs, so a home with pups to play with would suit her well.

Those interested in Mocha may visit Marion County Animal Services, located at 5701 SE 66th St., Ocala, or call 352-671-8700.
For the month of April, the MCAS is celebrating Kitten Preparedness Month by waiving the adoption fee for those who supply kitten supplies. For information on how to help the kittens and other updates, follow MCAS on Facebook.
