SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Sumter County is advising motorists that C 462 will be closed to through traffic and limited to local traffic only due to a temporary railroad crossing closure on C 462 between U.S. HWY 301 and CR 127 near the Duke Energy Plant in the City of Wildwood.
CSX Transportation has scheduled the crossing closure to allow for routine railroad maintenance and repairs to improve the rough crossing surface.

- Location: C 462 between US 301 and CR 127, near the Duke Energy Plant
- Scheduled Closure: Monday, April 20, 2026
- Closure Time: Expected between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.
- Expected Reopening: Thursday, April 23, 2026, by 5 p.m.
During the closure, Sumter County Public Works will coordinate and maintain the approved detour route, with traffic control devices and detour signage placed to safely direct motorists around the work zone.
