OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The timeless story of Hansel and Gretel is being presented by the Ocala Metro Ballet Theatre with a one-day, two-performance ballet production. The Ocala Metro Ballet Theatre presents these two expressive performances of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, “Hansel and Gretel.” This classic fairy tale begins when two siblings, Hansel and Gretel, and their land fall victim to famine. In an act of self-preservation, the children are abandoned by their stepmother and father and left to navigate an eerie forest alone. As they wander, the children find a strangely sweet house and a woman who doesn’t appear as she seems.

The ballet will feature performers from the San Antonio Ballet and the Coeur Ballet Academy as they take on key roles in the production. Zachary Bennett from San Antonio Ballet will portray the older brother, Hansel. Performers from the Coeur Ballet Academy, Abigail Alonso and Madeline Cronin will portray the younger sister, Gretel and the evil witch who tricks them.
