LAKE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Keep Lake Beautiful, the Keep America Beautiful-affiliated organization that “seeks to lead the way to a cleaner and more beautiful Lake County by engaging citizens and encouraging community participation,” is inviting volunteers to help clean up Leesburg’s Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
“Community volunteers are invited to help restore a neglected cemetery and beautify the site to honor those laid to rest there,” read an announcement, in part. “KLB will provide all necessary tools, materials, and guidance. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult. Volunteer hours and documentation will be available following the event if needed. Attendees are encouraged to wear appropriate outdoor clothing and bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Volunteers may preregister online at keeplakebeautiful.com/#events or sign up upon arrival.”
The event runs from 9 a.m. until noon.
The Keep Lake Beautiful Advisory Committee works closely with the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, keeping the board apprised of KLB membership, events and programming. They meet quarterly.
