THE VILLAGES, FL (352today.com) – An upcoming golf cart parade scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, in The Villages will be more than a celebration of President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday–it’ll also be an attempt to break a world record the sprawling retirement community already holds.

The Guinness Book of World Records currently recognizes a parade of golf carts held in The Villages on Sept. 4, 2005, as the record-setter for the largest ever of its kind. That parade drew 3,321 participants and raised nearly $30,000 for various charitable organizations.

This Sunday’s event, produced by the Republican Assembly of Sumter County, is an “official attempt” to break that record with a tribute to our nation’s 45th and 47th commander-in-chief, which means it has been verified and approved by the Guinness Book of World Records and meets the organization’s criteria for eligibility.

The estimated population of The Villages as a Census Designated Place (CDP) in 2005 was approximately 26,000, according to the Office of Economic and Demographic Research. Its population is estimated to be around 81,000 in the 2020 U.S. Census. (Note: It’s difficult to achieve a precise population number for The Villages, as it spans parts of three counties–Sumter, Marion and Lake–and is nearly the size of Washington, D.C.)

President Trump’s 80th Birthday Cart Parade kicks off at 1 p.m. on the president’s actual birthday–which is also Flag Day–from three starting/staging locations: Lake Sumter Landing (Canal & Old Camp Road), Ezell Recreation Center (769 Marilee Pl.) and Fenney Recreation Center (3200 Fenney Way). The RASC will follow the parade with a birthday party for the leader of the free world from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Sea Breeze Recreation Center, 2384 Buena Vista Blvd.

President Trump is not expected to attend, as he’s hosting the UFC Freedom 250 fight on the South Lawn of the White House that evening.
