OCALA, FL (352today.com) – An 18-year-old Ocala man was arrested Thursday on a felony warrant alleging he used social media and electronic communications to solicit a minor for unlawful sexual activity.
Brian Joseph Dubois was taken into custody Thursday, June 11, 2026, by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Warrants and Fugitive Apprehension Unit. He faces one count of use of a computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child.
The charge stems from a MCSO investigation that began in March after detectives received information about alleged communications between Dubois and a juvenile female. Investigators reviewed social media messages and conducted interviews as part of the investigation. Detectives allege Dubois repeatedly requested sexual acts from the victim in exchange for allowing her access to a vape device.
The victim later participated in a forensic interview at Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection, where investigators said she provided details about the alleged incidents. Detectives also reviewed electronic communications that they say support the allegations. According to the report, investigators initially sought a more serious charge but later pursued the solicitation charge after reviewing the evidence and consulting with the court.
A warrant for Dubois’ arrest was signed June 8 and served June 11. Dubois is currently being held at the Marion County Jail under a $2,500 bond.
