OCALA, FL (352today) – Grab a golden ticket and get ready for a whimsical journey at the Ocala Civic Theatre. The theatre is bringing the beloved story of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” to the stage on Friday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 11 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and for a final matinee on Sunday, July 12 at 2 p.m.

This production, based on the book of the same name by Roald Dahl, follows the story of a young Charlie Bucket who lives with his financially struggling family. Charlie is excited when he wins a trip to a chocolate factory owned by the infamous and mysterious Willy Wonka who takes him along with others on a strange adventure. The show will be performed by the Ocala Civic Theatre’s Arts Fir All youth cast of young performers from ages 9-17.

This hour-long production will not feature an intermission. Audiences will have the opportunity to watch the performance at the theatre located at 4337 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Tickets are currently available for purchase with adult tickets at $22.95 while children’s tickets are $14.55 for ages 18 years and younger.

For those who need accommodation, the Saturday evening performance will feature an available option for ASL. All performances will feature hearing assistance options where those who need it can trade car keys for a Walkman, single earbuds or double earbuds at the beginning and end of each show.
