The tournament is and exciting weekend of youth athletics and provides an opportunity to introduce visitors from across the Southeast to Belleview’s businesses, parks, restaurants, and community while generating a positive economic impact for local merchants.

“Hosting the Dixie Softball World Series is a tremendous opportunity for our city,” said Robert Vass, community engagement liaison for the City of Belleview. “For many of these families, this will be their first visit to Belleview. We want them to leave with lasting memories of not only a great tournament, but also the hospitality that defines our city. This tournament allows us to showcase Belleview on a regional stage while supporting youth athletics and our local economy.”

Throughout the tournament weekend, visiting families are expected to dine at local restaurants, shop with area retailers, utilize local lodging, and explore community amenities between games. City officials encourage residents to help welcome guests and demonstrate the community pride that has become a hallmark of Belleview.

To further enhance the visitor experience, the City of Belleview is partnering with Belleview Girls Softball to provide welcome bags to players on participating teams, totaling 250 bags. The City is inviting local businesses and organizations to contribute promotional materials that showcase their products and services while offering visitors an incentive to explore the community during their stay.

Businesses are encouraged to donate items such as:

  • Restaurant coupons or discounts
  • Retail promotions/Service discounts
  • Branded promotional items
  • Informational brochures
  • Small giveaways
  • Other promotional materials highlighting their business

“Every business, regardless of size, has an opportunity to be part of welcoming these families to Belleview,” Vass said. “A coupon, promotional item, or special offer helps visitors discover what our local businesses have to offer. It’s a simple way to support a major community event while promoting your business to hundreds of potential new customers.”

Businesses wishing to participate are asked to deliver promotional items to the attention of Robert Vass at Belleview City Hall no later than 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, to allow adequate time for assembling the welcome bags before team arrivals.

Residents are also encouraged to attend the tournament, cheer on the young athletes, and help create a championship atmosphere throughout the weekend. For more information about how your business can participate in the welcome bag initiative, email rvass@belleviewfl.org
