Marion County Public Schools has announced a comprehensive list of orientation dates and times for educational institutions in the district, from Pre-K through high school. Some schools have multiple dates or multiple times for different grades, so make sure you have your child or children’s group correct when you mark you calendars.

“Each new school year offers new information about everything school-related,” read the announcement. “Much of this information is shared at school orientations, giving students, parents, and families opportunities to become more familiar with their new or returning campus and classroom layouts before the actual school year begins.

“Families are encouraged to ensure their contact information is correct during these orientations and to sign up for free online Family Access at each school, giving them 24/7 access to student grades, attendance, academic, and additional information on any mobile device.”

Parents are encouraged to register their new students, particularly the very young, at events such as these to ease the transition and avoid long lines and delays on Aug. 10, which is the first day of school for students in Marion County Public Schools (Wyomina Park Elementary excepted).
